Gerry had the usual Jesuit course of studies at Jesuit College and Saint Louis University. He spent his regency in South Dakota, teaching mathematics at St. Francis Indian School on the Rosebud Indian Reservation and Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Gerry studied theology at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif., and was ordained a priest on June 15, 1979. I was in studies with Gerry at SLU. We called him "Stockman" with affection. He died too soon and will be deeply missed. – Larry Ehren
