On August 20, two Jesuits were ordained as deacons at the Church of the Gesù in Montreal by Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, SJ, archbishop of Ottawa.

Fifteen Jesuits, along with two Capuchins, were ordained on September 3 at the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola on the Boston College campus by Most Reverend Robert F.
